Task 11: What are some punishments cats are given if they break the clan's rules?
While the punishments of Thornclan were once harsh, often resulting in death, exile or stripping of titles, the punishments have become softer when Thistlestar was made leader of the clan, as he does not believe in death as a punishment.
The worst punishment that Thistlestar has given out was when he was just made leader. The rogue cat, Cloudchaser, was banished from the territory after he supposedly murdered their previous leader, Duskstar. However, many cats did not believe that Thistlestar acted harsh enough, believing he should have stripped Cloudchaser of his name too, or even killed him.
Now, the punishments are often just banning cats from leaving the camp or attending gatherings. The cats can be banned from hunting, relying on others to get their food for them; this is one of the punishments that many cats hate because they don’t like having someone do stuff for them.
However, for minor offences, cats are often just made to help the medicine cats gather herbs or whatever else they need, or to go and look after the elders, pulling ticks and getting them herbs or food. Basically, they are given tasks generally handed to new apprentices.
