Personality
Briargrove is one of the older cats of the clan, being viewed as a very stern cat. She believes that cats should follow the code of the clan and anyone who breaks it should be severely punished. While cats believe she is too stern and controlling, she is instead fearful. She wants cats to be careful and look after themselves because the code is supposed to protect, and the she-cat has seen many cats who have died due to their reckless natures and inability to follow the laws of the clan. Briargrove comes off as cruel because of her unrelenting belief in the clan’s code, and as a result, is not highly liked, especially by the younger warriors within the clan.
This dislike by the younger members of the clan was not helped by Briargrove’s dislike for kits. She chose not to hide her dislike for the kits and their antics and chose to act on it, often being viewed as a cruel cat, especially by the queens and elders. The exception to this dislike for kits is her adoptive daughter, Tinybird. She is a loving mother to the young kit especially when she saw the way the kit felt neglected by her father and never feeling good enough. Briargrove understood this, feeling like the odd one out between her two mates for many, many moons.

History
Briargrove was born as a kittypet named Simone. She spent time both inside and outside, but once she hit 7 moons, she preferred to stay outside, very rarely returning home to her twoleg. However, despite her love for the outdoors, she never explored the woods because of her fear of the unknown. Instead, she spent her life on the streets and knew it better than any other cat. So, when three young cats, who she would later learn were Thistlepaw, Hollowpaw and Cricketpaw, three apprentices for Thornclan, came to the streets looking for a street cat, she acted as their guide, knowing her ways to get information out on the streets. Simone helped them find the tom that she discovered was Thistlepaw and Cricketpaw’s father.
When the two cats found the tom and whatever they desire him for, Simone decided to return with them to their clan. She began to train as a warrior under the name Briarpaw due to her prickly attitude when the three apprentices first met her. She trained hard, fighting against the fear of the unknown that kept her from the woods and learnt to embrace the new life.
As the she-cat became a warrior, Briargrove unknowingly became a rival to the cat that she thought was her friend, Hollowglare, as she pursued her love for Thistlestrike. Frequently, Briargrove tried to make amends with Hollowglare, showing her that they weren’t enemies, but Briargrove eventually gave up and accepted their relationship as it was.
They were distant for many moons and it didn’t change until Duskstar sent the two she-cats on a mission to retrieve a cat that the ancestors had requested them to find. During the time on the mission, Briargrove fought with Hollowglare, and the tension began to rise. It all came to a head when Briargrove accused Hollowglare of being in love with her mate, and Hollowglare admits she is in love with Briargrove.
Upon returning from the mission, the she-cats ignored each other for many moons before Briargrove is made to talk about what happened by Thistlestrike, where they talk about their feelings and Briargrove admits that she knows that Thistlestrike is in love with Hollowglare, but she admits she is as well.
Briargrove spent a couple of moons after the conversation alone, unable to face her mate. During that time, she learnt who she was as a warrior without relying on another cat to have her back and she learnt what she wanted, which she discovered was both cats. She had a meeting with the two cats and begged for them to consider a relationship with all three and they did, trying a triadic relationship. As their relationship progressed, they found that everything fell into place and when they were together, everything made sense.
When Thistlestar returned to camp with the kits he claimed were his own, Briargrove distanced herself from her family, feeling uncomfortable around the kits due to her dislike of them. She feared that she wouldn’t be a good influence, but when she noticed one kit always off to the side, she pushed her issues aside to help the kit feel like she wasn’t nothing to her family. Briargrove took to Tinykit and decided that she wanted to be the kit’s mentor when she became an apprentice so asked Thistlestar to let her be his kits mentor. She never told Tinykit that she specifically asked to be the kit’s mentor, especially since she hadn’t taken an apprentice before, but chose not to tell her so it wouldn’t seem like she was playing favourites.
